Terms of the Competition


ELIGIBILITY

This championship is open to male amateur golfers who meet the following requirements:

  • Residency: Players must be a resident of Jefferson County, unless given an exemption from the tournament chair. 

  • Age: Players must be at least 14 years old as of July 5, 2025.


FIELD SIZE AND WAITLIST

The field is limited to the first 100 players to apply. After the field limit is reached, players will be placed on a wait list in order by their time of registration.

 

ENTRIES, DEADLINE, AND REFUND POLICY

  • Entries: An entry must be submitted online or in the Pro Shop. Payment is to be made on the qualifier day, July 5th. 

  • Entry Fee: $80. This includes cart and 1 range token.

  • Deadline: Entries must be received prior to the deadline (12PM EST on July 02, 2025). Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.

  • Refund Policy:

    • Withdrawal PRIOR TO entry deadline: Entry fee less $20

    • Withdrawal AFTER entry deadline: Entry fee less $50

    • Withdrawal WITHIN 2 DAYS of the competition: No Refund

 

FORMAT

This is a match play competition, with an 18-hole stroke play qualifying round to determine the top-64 players, who will advance to match play. The USGA's method of matching scorecards will be used to determine the last qualifying spot(s), and the medalist.

 

RULES

All play will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. 

 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Qualifying Round // Saturday, July 5 // Tee times begin at 8 AM
Round of 64 Matches // Sunday July 6 // Tee times begin at 8AM

Round of 32 Matches // Must be completed by Tuesday, July 8 // Competitors set tee times.
Round of 16 Matches // Must be completed by Thursday July 10 // Competitors set tee times.
Round of 8 Matches // Friday, July 11 // Competitors set tee times.

Semifinal Matches // Saturday, July 12 // Tournament Chair sets tee times.

36-Hole Final Match // Sunday, July 13 // Tournament Chair sets tee times.

 

QUALIFYING  ROUND TEE TIMES AND PAIRINGS

Qualifying round pairings will be posted on July 3rd and will be emailed to all players.

 

RANKINGS

The 2025 Watertown City Championship is a World Amateur Golf Ranking ranked event.

 

 

 

SNACK BAR

DJ's at the Park is a full service restaurant, and is open every day from 7am - 8pm.

 

GOLF CARTS

For the qualifying match, there are 2 carts available per foursome. The NYSGA's one-seat policy will be in effect. If you have a caddy, only one of you can ride.

 

RANGE

Range is included for all competitors on the day of qualifying, or day of match. 

 

AWARDS

Trophies will be awarded to the winner. Payout to the medalist, winner and finalist.

 

PRIZES

Gift certificates to the host club pro shop will be awarded.
